REMEMBERING ABRAHAM THIS SUNDAY but NO QURBAN

Please, can someone help me. My view is going against the grain. I am of the opinion that Qurban or Korban, or sacrifice is a pagan ritual and God never ask for sacrifice.

That is very much against conventional or mainstream Islam. Eid ul Adha is 3 days away. The celebration of Haj, or the celebration of sacrifice is the time when the sacrifice of Ishmael by Abraham is reenacted throughout the Muslim world.

Now I am saying it aloud, Qurban, or SACRIFICE is falsifying God’s instruction WHEN HIS INSTRUCTION is a simple of slaughtering animals to feed the needy and beggar.

22:36/37 And the camels and cattle We have appointed for you as among the symbols of Allah ; for you therein is good. So mention the name of Allah upon them when lined up; and when they are on their sides, then eat from them and feed the needy and the beggar. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may be grateful. Their meat will not reach Allah , nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good.

Who needs sacrifices? Cruel Presidents, sick generals, dictators, despots, kings, sultans, those in power. They sacrifice others for their own survival. Pawns are sacrificed and even the Queen is sacrificed as long as the king is protected.

The concept of Sacrifice is a cruel HUMAN survival practice. The media goes overdrive to ensure the CONCEPT of SACRIFICE lives on. Coupled that with the concept of heroes, decorations, that glorifies SACRIFICE you get a powerful combination.

Even the priests get sucked in. Why not sacrifice a priest on the sacrificial altar. Why always the maiden, the downtrodden, the privates and the conscript that get sacrificed?

There is no word QURBAN in the Quran but the terms HADYA ( root HA, DAL, YA eg 5:95) is often translated as sacrifice or offering and NUSUKI ( root NUN, SIN, KAF eg 6:162) has been translated to ritual of SACRIFICE or Qurban.

My prayer and my sacrifice, my life and my death, are all for God, Lord of the Universe. (6:162)

Search for the root word of QURBAN. Who would imagine that this word QURBAN has a Jewish or HEBREW root. QURBAN is not QURANIC nor Persian. It is Hebrew. The Jews were practicing QURBAN, and they sacrificed livestock and even roasted their babies alive as a pagan tradition of sacrifice. Coincidentally the practiced stopped during the time of Jesus about the time when the Romans were occupying Palestine. Does that mean that the cleaning up of such practice was the job of Jesus? I believe so.

And now the followers of Muhammad are repeating and reliving that pagan JEWISH tradition. And they say that you need to sacrifice for ISLAM in time of war. Those young suicide bombers are sacrificing their life for ISLAM. I disagree.

The rule of engagement in war is very clear. If you are driven from your home, if you are not allowed to glorify God, migrate, Hijrah or retaliate. In such a case it is no longer sacrifice. It is a responsibility. It is for your own survival that you go to war. I do not consider that as sacrifice. Only despots and imperialist go to war to gain new land and will make their subjects sacrifice just like what OBAMA and Bush have been doing to sacrifice the young conscripts in IRAQ and Afghanistan.

When God asks us to spend towards a good cause, towards His cause, He does not consider it as sacrifice, He considers that as a LOAN. He considers that as a BEAUTIFUL advance.

SACRIFICE is an oppressive concept. A loan is not. Do not confuse sacrifice with responsibility or Loan or advances.

Was Abraham asked to sacrifice Ishmael? The Quran is silent from who the command came from. It was but a dream, likely from satan.

Guide me LORD. I am going to slaughter a lamb this SUNDAY. Insyallah. It is not going to be a Qurban. I would be reflecting, even Ibrahim could be tricked by SATAN.

Perhaps the followings articles can guide you on these issue

    Animal Sacrifice of Eid
God never ordered Abraham to kill his son, Ismail

More topics on Hajj i.a.w. Quran that presents Hajj in the true, pure, Quranic way.

Bercakap pasal Haji, kenapa agaknya semasa kursus tak pernah pun kita dengar ustaz-ustaz, ilmuan Haji menghuraikan ayat 2:200?
Dah jadi kelaziman yang ramai yang berpesan-pesan supaya tolong doakan kat kaabah nanti supaya kenalan/sanak saudara pass exam, dapat anak, business maju, naik pangkat ect ect ect. Berdasarkan 2:202, kebanyakan doa ini terkabul…. tanpa menyedari akan kenyataan “…while having no share in the Hereafter…. di ayat 2:200.

[2:200] Once you complete your rites, you shall continue to commemorate GOD as you commemorate your own parents, or even better. Some people would say, “Our Lord, give us of this world,” while having no share in the Hereafter.
[2:201] Others would say, “Our Lord, grant us righteousness in this world, and righteousness in the Hereafter, and spare us the retribution of Hell.” [2:202] Each of these will receive the share they have earned.
GOD is most efficient in reckoning.
