March 6, 2010

Cacat bahasa cacat bangsa.

SABAR bukan Patience!! Sila liha nota persendirian saya seperti berikut”

The Malay language translates SABAR as PATIENCE. It is a literal Malay English translation which makes the understanding of the word ASABR as mentioned numerous times in the QURAN misplaced.

Patience is rather restrictive. PATIENCE is defined as an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay eg. to have patience with a slow learner. When used in the context of work it means quiet, steady perseverance; even-tempered care; diligence eg. to work with patience.

PATIENCE is further defined in terms of its quality. The quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.

Asabar bukan PATIENCE. Patience is tolerance, the suppression of annoyance and anger . Patience is emotion containing anger, desire, want, in steady preserverance.

3:146 How many of the Prophets fought (in Allah’s way), and with them [fought] large bands of godly men? But they never lost heart if they met with disaster in Allah’s way, nor did they weaken [in will] nor give in. And Allah loves [hubb] those who are firm and steadfast. [as-sabreen.

The Meaning of SABAR /Asabr / asabirin. Is It PATIENCE? No it is NOT

February 17, 2010

The Malay language translates SABAR as PATIENCE. It is a direct and  literal Malay English translation which makes the understanding of the word ASABR as mentioned numerous times in the QURAN misplaced.

Asabar IS NOT PATIENCE. Patience is tolerance, the suppression of annoyance and anger . Patience is emotion containing anger, desire, want, in steady preserverance.

The Quran in Ayat 3:146 presented a more complete definition of Asabrn/

3:146 How many of the Prophets fought (in Allah’s way), and with them [fought] large bands of godly men? But they never lost heart if they met with disaster in Allah’s way, nor did they weaken [in will] nor give in. And Allah loves [hubb] those who are firm and steadfast. [as-sabreen.

It is about being steadfast, firm, They do not weaken in battle, not giving in, unwavering in resolve to fight for Allah’s cause i.e RIGHT over WRONG.

The understanding that Asabr is PATIENCE is flawed. Asabr is not tolerance.

Terima Kasih Merdeka kepada Kartika Sri Dewi Sukarno

August 31, 2009

Hari ini 31 Ogos hari Merdeka. Merdeka kah anda? Merdekakah saya?

Harubiru rupanya.

Saya terbuka mata, selepas 52 tahun merdeka. Sukar sungguh perjalanan merdeka. Terima kasih kartika.

Religious Perverts Inciting Hatred @ Shah Alam

August 29, 2009

Those bigoted religionists at shah alam were not demonstrating.

They were inciting hatred and misrepresenting the religion they claim to profess.

They get heated up or blow themselves up when others draw caricatures. What crappy religionists they are.

Round them up!

Bahagian Ketiga – Siapa itu Ulama siapa itu Alhabar

August 23, 2009

5:44 It was We who revealed the law: therein was guidance and light. By its standard have been judged the Jews, by the prophets who bowed (as in Islam) to Allah’s will ( waalrrabbaniyyoona waalahbaru ) by the rabbis and the doctors of law: for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah’s book, and they were witnesses thereto: therefore fear not men, but fear me, and sell not my signs for a miserable price. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) Unbelievers.

5:63 Why do not the rabbis and the doctors of Law forbid them from their (habit of) uttering sinful words and eating things forbidden? Evil indeed are their works.

9:34 O ye who believe! there are indeed many among the priests and anchorites, who in Falsehood devour the substance of men and hinder (them) from the way of Allah. And there are those who bury gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah. announce unto them a most grievous penalty

Dengan ayat -ayat diatas timbul beberapa persoalan

a. Adakah status ulama telah diculik olih agamawan?

b. Alhabar hanya layak diberikan kepada pengkaji AlQuran, dan Kitab Allah kerana mereka diberi tanggungjawab memelihara ayat-ayat Allah. Adakah layak pengkaji Hadis digelar Alhabar?

d. bagaimanakah Islam menentukan kualiti Alhabar?

THe Culture of Poverty – Manik Urai and the malay politics

July 17, 2009

The Manik Urai byelection left many people wondering, why BN failed to win.

Unfolding in MANIK URAI is THE CULTURE OF POVERTY that all Malays suffer. The same culture experienced by the Irish and the French Canadian and the Mexican.

In simple terms it is a poor, uneducated society in the new democracy who franchised their hopes and rights to the political leaders in the name of nationalism or religion or doctrines. The reasons for outright franchising is their lack of ilmu, skill and being marhaen and not forgetting the feudalistic and religious background. They live on hope but do not know the business model to improve their life.

The elected leaders are equally poor, uneducated. They have the desire to become rich. The only business model they know is to rob the treasury and baitulmal and the tabung haji and the political coffers.

Both are to be blamed.

Personally I try to dissociate and fight hard not to be sucked into this culture of poverty.  Fortunately I have a business model which works. I use my know how to earn an honest living. I also require help from KNOW WHO but not at the expense of sacrificing my principles. I break barriers by moving away from the tribal and local marketplace. The challenge is to find a product and business model  that has appeals beyond your national shores.

So the solutions is FIND a BUSINESS MODEL TO GET OUT FROM THIS Culture of Poverty. Then work hard to defend, promote, develop it further.

What is your choice? democracy or Justice, the Iran question

June 18, 2009

What is your choice? is it democracy or is it justice.

Do you want democracy Iran Style where you have the right to vote but subjected to a regime that is not to your liking OR you do not mind be a subject of a just despot or dictator?

In the case of Iran they  choose to play the democracy game but the risk is that, the majority may not be as smart and liberal as the urbanites. In a democracy even a single majority determines the right to rule and in the case of Iran the rural folks decide.

To me it is a simple choice. I choose democracy. To me denial of the right to choose or vote is UNJUST. Period. I cannot imagine being a citizen of Saudi Arabia, or Brunei or Swaziland. I want my right to choose the government of my choice.

The wheel of justice moves very slowly. In another perspective the speed of justice  depends on how fast the citizen embraces the power of democracy and how fast the citizens of the country see justice. You get the government that you deserve.

In Iran you see a lot of wishful thinking by the west. They wish Ahmadnedjad was gone. The media went on overdrive to drive the anti Ahmadnejad sentiment. But the majority of Iranians wants Ahmad nejad. These are the people without blackberriess, access to computers or CNN. These were the people of the bazaars who started the revolution in 1979. They are still very much the psyche of Iran today NOT the liberals and reformists you see on TV.

In Iran there are many positive things you see from the new  found democracy. For the first time Iranians are questioning the Ayatollahs. For the first time Iranians are showing open dissents. For the first time Iranians are questioning the revolutionaries.

That is democracy. They must not be stifled nor should they resort to violence. The rights to peaceful  dissent and the right to assembly is very much a part of democracy.

One day the liberals and reformists will have their day.

Let me have democracy any time.
